Check-in & Check-out Times
Check in time is between 3pm – 10pm and check out time is 10:30am.
Standard bookings made through this website, over the phone or by email directly with us are fully refundable up to 72 hours before your stay. Please note all bookings made under special promotions are non-refundable. Promotions cannot be redeemed in conjunction with another promotion or discount.
Breakfast is included for all direct bookings unless otherwise stated – If your booking was made through an agent, different terms may apply and it is your responsibility to check you booking. We do offer breakfast at £12 per adult (15+) and £8 per child under 14 if you did not have it included in your booking.
Room Occupancy & Extra Guests
Please be aware that all of our double rooms are reserved for single or double occupancy only, and are set up based on your declared occupancy at the time of booking. Due to safety implications and housekeeping requirements any guest found to be in breach of this double or single occupancy rule will be subject to an extra fee upon check out.
Should you wish to travel with a group or family some of our larger rooms are perfect for this purpose where you are able to pre-arrange the required bed set up. Please contact us and we will help you with your requirements.
When booking direct we offer a 72 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you cancel at least 72 hours prior to your arrival date your card will not be charged the remaining 50% balance and your 50% deposit will be refunded in full. Please note, refunds can take up to 10 days to appear in your account.
If the booking is cancelled within the 72 hours the total reservation amount will be fully charged to the card provided.
Please note that bookings made via booking(.)com are non-refundable and will be fully charged at the time of booking.
For group bookings for 5 or more rooms please be aware that we require 7 days notice of cancellations or amendments. These changes are only ever dependent on availability and changes or cancellations of any kind made within the 7 days period are non-refundable.
For the comfort of our other guests we ask that we are made aware of any Hen or Stag parties at the time of booking, and we may refuse the booking if we feel it may compromise the enjoyment of our other guests. If you book for a Hen or Stag party (or similar) without notifying us prior to the booking we reserve the right to refuse the booking upon arrival.
Each room booking comes with a free parking spot in our private parking lot, subject to height restrictions of maximum 1.9m due to a low roof over the access drive. Your parking spot will be ready from 3pm on the day of check-in until 1pm on the day of check-out. Use of the parking lot outside of these times are subject to obtaining prior approval from The Sheldon.
If you vehicle is taller than 1.9m or you have more than 1 vehicle per booked room, we will help you find the best available parking options.
No Smoking Policy
The Sheldon is 100% smoke-free. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the hotel building. Should it be brought to our attention that smoking has taken place, a cleaning fee of £100 will be payable. Incense is also not permitted. The same fine will apply if there is any tampering with smoke or fire detecting equipment.
A charge of £45 will be taken in the event of a lost key. This covers the change of lock, key fob and the cost of a new key.
We will work with you to get your belongings back to you if you have left them behind, although we bear no responsibility for these items. We reserve the right to give to charity or dispose of lost property if it is unclaimed for 4 weeks from the stay date.
We reserve the right to charge your credit or debit card for any damage done to your room during your stay or for any items that are missing when you leave.
If you do sign up for our mailing list, your data will not be disclosed to any company outside of Sheldon Hotel Ltd and we will only contact you about The Sheldon B&B and our other ventures.
Credit card details are entered on a secured page and are transferred using SSL to our payment provider.
If we have agreed to accommodate your pet(s) with you during your stay, the following terms apply:
At the moment we accept small and medium dogs only. No other pets are possible at this time.
Dogs must be on a lead in common areas.
Dogs are not permitted in the dining area during breakfast for the comfort of other guests.
All dogs should be fully trained, vaccinated and free of fleas.
If dogs are found to be highly disruptive to other guests, you may be asked to leave without a refund given. This includes aggressive behaviour, excessive barking (especially at night) or causing damage to the property.
